Joshua West, MA, LPC Associate

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. My role is to create a safe, supportive space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and begin building meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable.

I offer 100% virtual therapy across Texas for adults navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, trauma, substance use, and difficulties with life transitions. To fit around busy workdays and real-life schedules, I offer convenient early morning sessions starting at 6 AM.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in real human connection. I blend evidence-based frameworks with creative modalities, including IFS, EMDR, CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, and Bibliotherapy. Whether we are building concrete coping tools for daily stress, processing complex trauma, or using art and stories for deeper insight, our work is always tailored to meet you where you are.

Therapy isn’t about fixing something that’s “wrong” with you. It’s about understanding yourself more fully and finding clarity, resilience, and balance on your own terms.

Maxwell Maximus, CAT

-Chief Emotional Support Officer & Certified Best Boy-

People often ask about the name Maxwell Mental Health Services. While I do live in Maxwell, Texas currently, the practice is truly named after my orange shadow, Max, who chose to follow me and hop into my truck on a college campus back in 2010.

Max always had an uncanny intuition for when I needed support. When I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2020 and underwent aggressive chemotherapy treatment, Max barely left my lap. His quiet, steady companionship during the hardest chapter of my life was a huge part of what inspired me to pivot into therapy. I wanted to extend that same grounded, compassionate support to others.

Today, Maxwell is about 17 years old, living comfortably as an indoor-only elder statesman. While he won't be sitting in on your telehealth sessions (unless directly requested), his spirit of steady, non-judgmental presence is the foundation of everything I do here.
